A two-storey private residence with a complex hipped-roof plan and a central tower element, engineered in light gauge steel — wall panels, floor cassettes and roof trusses modelled, fabricated and delivered by articulated lorry as one package.

A bespoke house with a plan this articulated — wings at different heights, hipped roofs meeting at several ridges, a tower rising through the middle — is exactly the kind of geometry that slows a traditional build down. Every intersection needs setting out on site, and every roof plane needs a carpenter to work it out.
In light gauge steel that work happens once, in the model. Wall panels, floor cassettes and the roof trusses for each hip and valley were engineered together, with the tower framed as part of the same system. The plans, elevations and roof layouts shown here were all cut from that single geometry.
For an island site, the delivery matters as much as the design. The whole frame left the factory as a labelled kit on articulated lorries, so what arrives is a known set of parts that stands in sequence rather than a stream of materials and trades to coordinate over the water.
